EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

 

1999‑               Teach sociology and sociology courses at Austin Community College and work with organizations attempting to improve educational opportunities for minority youth.

 

1985‑99           Taught High School science courses

 

1984‑85           Trained and evaluated personnel for industrial employers.

 

1978‑84           Evaluated secondary school performance, trained teachers, collaborated in designing and implementing a large environmental education project for the Israel Ministry of Education and the Sde Boker     Research and Development Project.  Arranged and facilitated meetings of the Board of  Governors of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

 

1974‑77           Designed training programs, and recruited and trained personnel for several corporations.

 

1968-74          Taught sociology courses as an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston and SUNY/Buffalo. At the latter I was attached to the School of Social Work.

 

1964‑68          Conducted workshops and seminars on racial prejudice for the University of Texas, Division of Extension's Adult Basic Education Program -- part-time                        while in graduate school.

 

1962‑64          Taught math and science at Middle Schools in California.

 

1950‑62           Stockboy, truck driver, salesman and management trainee for paper companies -- mainly Fine   Papers,Inc., my family's business.

B.A. in Chemistry, 1958, University of Texas at Austin.

 

General secondary teaching certificate, 1963, following course work at the

University of Southern California.

 

Ph.D in sociology, 1968, University of Texas at Austin

California:         certified in physical and life science.

Texas: certified in chemistry, physics, physical science, composite science, and sociology.
